Project SPARK (Successful Partnerships to Assure Readiness for Kindergarten) is a partnership between the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS), and five community nonprofit organizations including United Way of Wyandotte County.

This partnership serves the eastern and southern half of Kansas City, KS. The population served includes children ages zero to five, with an emphasis on children that are not currently receiving services.


The purpose of this program is to:

1) Increase the number of children receiving high quality early childhood education.

2) Increase the quality of the early learning environment.

3) Identify young at-risk children and families needing health services.

4) Strengthen relationships schools and partners have with families.

5) Increase the literacy skills of parents and other family members.
